R. M. Kedia Eye Hospital
Established by MB Kedia Sewa Trust in 1975 to provide best available eye care services to the blind & needy people of this region & Nepal.
A non-profit making, non-governmental, welfare oriented social organization. Affiliated to Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh (NNJS) and Social welfare Council (SWC) of Nepal.
The institute has been developed from 5 bedded eye hospital to 175 bedded institution providing secondary level eye care services to the people of Nepal. At present it stands 5th among the eye hospitals of Nepal.


Historical Background
Birth of the hospital with 5 bed capacity took place in a small building in Birganj, the commercial city of Nepal. To cope up gradually increasing workload, 25 bedded building was constructed which was inaugurated by late her majesty queen Aishwarya in February 1985.
Increasing from initial 2 day/week operating days, the hospital started 6 days OT/week during the year 1988. Presently, hospital is well equipped with all the OPD, OT and inpatient services with round-the-clock emergency sevices and well trained and experienced team of manpower.

More than 50 million people are being benefited from quality services of this hospital. Its reputation and low cost services has attracted not only Nepalese people, but people from adjacent part or remote part of neighboring country India.
The hospital covers around 2 million population of various districts of Nepal, including mainly Parsa, Bara, Makwanpur and Rautahat districts of Narayani Zone, while people from Sarlahi, Mahottari and Chitwan are also benefited.
The hospital is well known for its services in various state of India including Bihar, UP, West Bangal, Jharkhand covering around 45 million people.

Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh (NNJS)
The NNJS established in 1978 is a non-profit making, non-governmental, welfare oriented social organization to represent Government of Nepal and the Social Welfare Council of Nepal in the sphere of eye care activities.

Narayani Eye Care Project (NECP)
In1988 AD, two Japanese International Non Governmental Organizations (INGO), namely Association for Ophthalmic Cooperation to Asia (AOCA) and 24 hours television charity committee joined hands and formed a Project Named Narayani Eye Care Project ( NECP) through the NNJS in providing the eye care services to the needy people of this area. Which support brings this hospital to stand in present shape & size.

M.B.Kedia Sewa Trust
Mahabir prasad Brijlal Kedia Sewa trust was started by the name of the famous industrialist of Nepal Late Brij Lal Kedia. Later this trust is continued by his family member in Birganj. It has started many program and projects of social activities for the people of this belt. R.M.Kedia Eye Hospital is established and run by this Trust.

Lions Clubs International
Lions club is collaborate with R.M. Kedia Eye Hopital for DST camp from 2006. From 2014 it supporting for school screening programme.

Indo-Nepal Friendship Committee
Indian Embassy conduct DST camp through Indo-Nepal friendship committee.
